Decisions, decisions. We almost never say no to dessert - but if we have pizza first, we might choose fresh fruit over Caramel Banana Cornbread Pudding (460 calories a shot sans ice cream, btw). There's a lot of grey area when it comes to calories in, calories out - but knowledge is power. So before digging in, weigh your options...and count your calories.
"Chocolate" and "fat-free" are rarely used in the same sentence - and if they do - it is probably describing a dessert that isn't worth mentioning. But our meringues defy the rules as they are fat free AND absolutely delicious. Recipe: Double-Chocolate Mocha Meringues Calories: 25 calories per serving.
Go fresh and lean with a turkey burger that tastes every bit as good and juicy as a beef patty. Add a fresh peach salsa topping and it will take your plate to a whole other level of garden-fresh goodness. Recipe: Turkey Burger with Feta and Herbs Calories: 300 per serving.
You won't believe it's not ice cream! Though it may look like a top-heavy indulgence, this cherry cheesecake fro-yo is made with Greek yogurt and fresh cherries for an almost guilt-free dessert. Recipe: Cherry Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt Calories: 280 per serving.
Creamy and rich in name only, this custardy caramel flan is relatively reasonable on calorie count and kosher as well. Recipe: Almond-Orange Flan Calories: 280 per serving.
Quinoa is the bees’ knees right now on the health food circuit, and with good reason. Unlike rice, quinoa boasts a balanced set of amino acids and lots of protein. This hearty Jambalaya is also lean on calories! Recipe: Shrimp, Sausage and Quinoa Jambalaya Calories: 240 calories per serving.
This Macaroni and Cheese is creamy, cheesy and undeniably decadent. Two types of Beecher’s artisan cheese and a kick of chili powder makes this new take on a time-honored classic one your taste buds will adore. Recipe: Beecher’s World’s Best Mac and Cheese Calories: 570 per serving.
There are some traditions you just don’t mess with - and Chicago style deep-dish pizza is one of them. Pizzeria Uno’s founder, Ike Sewell, started the Chi-town craze back in 1943 and made the 3-inch thick pie of mozzarella and tomatoes a delicious indulgence that’s worth every bite. Recipe: Uno’s Cheese and Tomato Deep Dish Pizza Calories: 460 per serving.
Sure this smoothie looks like a thick and super-indulgent milkshake - but at only 150 calories a serving - you can slurp this pineapple and honey goodness down daily. Recipe: Pineapple Orange Honey Smoothie
Summer has never tasted so good: goat and feta cheeses, cherry tomatoes and ribbons of fresh zucchini star in this dish that is rich, filling and...wait for it...506 calories per serving! Recipe: Summer in a Casserole
