Macy’s Day Parade Morning Breakfast
Celebrate the Macy's Day Parade with a light early bird menu
Marching bands, Santa and a whole lot of helium converge on the streets of New York each and every Thanksgiving for the famous Macy’s Day Parade. At our house, watching the live broadcast while enjoying a light breakfast with early-bird guests is tradition. Here are a few no-fuss recipes for morning munchies that will leave plenty of room for the feast to come:
- Snoopy Scrambled Eggs: A quick scramble is always a crowd pleaser and has enough “oomph” to satisfy without stuffing like a casserole would. But since this is a holiday, dress eggs up a little using tomatoes, thyme and heavy cream in our Scrambled Eggs recipe.
- Float Fruit Salad: Keep it light with a simple bowl of freshly chopped pineapple, bananas, apples, pears and grapes. Top the mix off with lemon juice to keep flavors fresh, or try a fizzy lemon-lime soda. It will keep the cut fruit from turning while adding a little effervescent flavor.
- Rockette Ready Muffins: When making muffins on Thanksgiving morning, use ingredients that are going to play a part in your feast such as sweet potatoes, cranberries and/or pumpkin. Try our Heart-Smart Sweet Potato Muffins for a sweet no-hassle recipe.
