Ragusa Berry Salad

Roast or grill the red peppers yourself or use good-quality jarred red peppers. Serve this salad over greens, under grilled vegetables or on its own.


1pint ripe strawberries, hulled and sliced 1/4-inch thick
2 fresh red bell peppers, grilled, halved, skinned, seeded and sliced thinly or 1 (7-ounce) jar high-quality roasted red peppers, drained and sliced thinly
1/4cup extra-virgin olive oil
2tablespoons good quality aged balsamic vinegar
Salt and fresh-ground black pepper, to taste


  1. Combine all ingredients well in a large nonreactive mixing bowl.
