"Dee" best 5 bean chili

  • Yield: 8-10 servings


1 1/2pounds 85% ground beef
1tablespoon apple cider vinegar/ ground mustard and Franks hot sauce
1/2cup light brown sugar
1cup catsup and water
2cans Ro-Tel diced tomatoes with chilies
1teaspoon black pepper
3leaves bay leaves( whole/remove before serving)
1medium red and yellow pepper and onion (diced)
2packages Mccormick chili seasoning mix (original)
1can each pinto, black, white, black-eyed peas and kidney beans


  1. brown ground beef and drain
  2. drain and rinse well all beans
  3. drain tomatoes with chilies
  4. in very large mixing bowl:
  5. mix all ingredients except the beans and beef
  6. add beans and gently mix
  7. add beef and mix well
  8. pour into large crock pot and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours
  9. makes large crock pot – # of servings depends on appetite 🙂
