Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2cup (1 stick) margarine, softened
1/3cup sugar
3/4cup light brown sugar
1large egg
2cups all-purpose flour
1teaspoon baking soda
1teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2cup semisweet chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat margarine until creamy. Gradually add sugar and brown sugar, beating well. Add egg and beat well.
  3. Combine flour and baking soda in another bowl. Add to margarine mixture and beat just until blended. Add vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on cookie sheets coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and let cool completely on a wire rack.
