Broccoli Sauce with Black Olives and Penne Pasta

Olive Oil
Whole tomatoes
Sliced Black Olives
Mushrooms- sliced
Broccoli - break off florets then slice stalks into thin medallions
Penne Pasta
Basil to taste
Caper Juice


In large saucepan put in olive oil, add sliced garlic and slowly brown

Add onion, hand squeeze tomatoes from can (using juice).

Add only broccoli stalks at this time

Add basil, capers, caper juice, olives – salt & pepper to taste

Bring to boil and cover pan and simmer for about 45 minutes.

Add broccoli and mushrooms (whille pasta is cooking) after sauce has simmered for the 45 minutes.

Stir frequently.

When pasta is cooked pour sauce over

Optional:  Green beans and shrimp can also be added
