Banana Sheet Cake

  • Yield: 15 servings


1cup butter or margarine
1/2cup water
2cups sugar
1cup mashed bananas
1/4cup milk
2 eggs
1teaspoon baking soda
2cups flour
Banana frosting:
1package (16 ounce) confectioners' sugar
1/3cup mashed banana
1/4cup butter, softened
1teaspoon vanilla extract


For the cake:

  1. Combine the butter and water in a saucepan. bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in the sugar, bananas, milk, eggs and baking soda. Add the flour and mix well.
  3. Spoon into an ungreased 10×15-inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until the cake tests done.

For the frosting:

  1. Combine the confectioners’ sugar, banana, butter and vanilla in a mixer bowl. Beat until of spreading consistency, scraping the bowl occasionally.
  2. Spread frosting over the hot cake.
