Candied Pecans from Dancing Bear Lodge
A nutty topping for ice cream or coffee cake, and a nice gift to boot.
For a little heat, add 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the sugar mixture.
- 2 T Brown Sugar
- 1 T All Purpose Flour
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 1 Egg White
- 3 cup Pecan Halves
- Preheat oven to 175F.
- Mix brown sugar, flour and salt in a bowl and set aside. In another bowl, beat egg white until foamy; slowly beat in sugar mixture. Fold in pecans. Transfer pecans to a parchment-lined baking pan. Spread in a single layer. Bake about 1 ½ hours. Cool completely. Break pecans apart.
