We’re not in love with low-fat bacon. So we were skeptical of the Bacon Freak’s Gourmet Bacon Club, which specializes in hand-rubbed, hand-seasoned natural bacon that happens to be lower in fat too. According to owner Rocco Loosbrock, his bacon is made the old-fashioned way-“no fake wood, no fake flavors, hand-rubbed and no water added.” Water is what makes bacon spatter. He’s right.
