World’s Best Cookies

1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup salad oil
1 cup oats (old fashioned or 1 minute
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup crushed corn flakes
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3 1/2 cups white flour
1 teaspoon baking soda


  1. Cream together butter and sugars till light and fluffy.  Add egg and mix well, add oil and mix.  Add oats, cornflakes, coconut and nuts and vanilla. Then add flour, soda and salt.  Mix well and form into balls the size of small walnuts.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Flatten with a fork.  Bake 10-12 minutes in a 350degree oven.  Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Allow to cool on cookie sheet at least 1 minute.  Makes6-8 dozen
