Winter Wine

  • Yield: 8 servings


4 to 5sticks cinnamon
2teaspoons whole allspice
1teaspoon whole cloves
-- Peeling from 1/2 orange (outer orange peel only)
1/2cup sugar
1/2cup water
1-- (750 ml.) bottle sangria


  1. Put first six ingredients in pan and boil until sugar is dissolved and mixture is thickening.
  2. Stir in wine.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer at least 15 minutes.
  4. Serve hot.
