Whole Wheat Walnut Bread
- Yield 6 to 8 servings
This bread is great from a quick breakfast or on-the-go snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300F. Mix together the flours, baking powder, salt and baking soda. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, brown sugar and vanilla, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Pour over dry ingredients. Mix well. Add one cup chopped walnuts. Bake at 300F for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes in a greased 8×4-inch loaf pan.
