Vidalia Onion Cheese Dip

2 large Vidalia Onions, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup mayonnaise
8 ounces sharp shredded cheddar cheese
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Saute onions in butter.  Blend with mayonnaise, cheese Tabasco and garlic.  Pour into a buttered casserole and bake at 375 for 25 minutes or until brown and bubbly.  Serve with Sun chips or crackers.
