Vegetarian Fish Sauce (Nuoc Mam)

An easy-to-make fish sauce to use in all your Southeast Asian dishes.
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 1 tablespoon water
- Juice of 1/2 lime
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed dried red pepper flakes
- Combine all the ingredients well. Makes about 1/3 cup.
