Vegetarian Fish Sauce (Nuoc Mam)

2tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
2tablespoons mirin
1tablespoon water
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4teaspoon crushed dried red pepper flakes


  1. Combine all the ingredients well. Makes about 1/3 cup.
