Vegetarian Fish Sauce (Nuoc Mam)

An easy-to-make fish sauce to use in all your Southeast Asian dishes.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
2 tablespoons mirin
1 tablespoon water
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon crushed dried red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients well. Makes about 1/3 cup.
