PrintEmail Ingredients 1/4 cup butter, softened1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar1/4 cup granulated sugar1/4 cup canola oil1 egg1 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 cup all-purpose flour1/2 cup whole-wheat flour1/4 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder1/4 teaspoon salt2 ounces dark chocolate, coarsely chopped2 ounces milk chocolate, coarsely chopped2/3 cup chopped pecans (optional) Instructions Preheat oven to 350F. Combine butter and sugars in a large bowl, stirring with a spoon until creamy. Add oil, egg and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Whisk together flours, cocoa and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and stir well. Stir in both chocolates and pecans, if using. Drop by tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake about 12 minutes, until cookies are just set. Cool on a wire rack. Store cookies at room temperature in an airtight container up to 4 days.
