Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie

1cup sugar
1cup light corn syrup
3-- eggs
2tablespoons butter, melted
2teaspoons vanilla extract
1cup pecan
1/2cup chocolate chips
1-- unbaked (9-inch) pie shell


  1. Beat the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter and vanilla in a large bowl.  Stir in the pecans and chocolate chips.  Pour into the pie shell.  Cover the edges of the crust with foil to prevent excess browning.  Bake at 350F for 55 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.  Remove to a wire rack to cool.  Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
