Sweet Potato-Pecan Pie

Sweet Potato Pie:
1 1/2cups mashed sweet potatoes
1/2cup brown sugar
1teaspoon cinnamon
1teaspoon ginger
1/4teaspoon salt
1 1/2cups scalded milk
2 eggs, well beaten
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
1/4cup butter
1/2cup brown sugar
3/4cup chopped pecans


  1. To prepare pie.  Combine first 7 ingredients in order given.  Let cool.  Put in unbaked pie shell.  Bake at 350F until nearly set, about 30 minutes.  Sprinkle with topping.  Continue cooking until don.
  2. To prepare topping.  Mix and reserve for top of pie.
