Swedish Apple Pie with Cinnamon Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- 3 to 4medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1tablespoon sugar
- 1teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4cup melted unsalted butter
- 1cup sugar
- 1/2cup chopped walnuts
- 1cup flour
- 1large egg
- 1pinch salt
- -- Cinnamon Cream Sauce
- 1 1/2cups sugar
- 2/3cup light corn syrup
- 1/3cup water
- 1 1/2teaspoons cinnamon
- 2/3cup evaporated milk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Butter a 9-inch pie pan. Fill buttered pie pan with two-thirds full of apples. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Combine remaining ingredients in bowl and spoon over apples. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until golden. Serve with Cinnamon Cream Sauce.
Cinnamon Cream Sauce
Bring sugar, corn syrup, water and cinnamon to a boil over medium heat. Boil 4 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Stir in evaporated milk. Serve warm over pie.
