You are here: Home » Recipes » Strawberry Cake Strawberry Cake Recipe by smiles777 Yield 10-12 servings PrintEmail Ingredients 1 box white cake mix1 medium package strawberry gelatin3/4 cup vegetable oil1 cup water4 medium eggs1/2 cup crushed frozen strawberries, well-drained1 box confectioners sugar1 stick butter (room temperature)1/2 cup crushed frozen strawberries, well-drained Instructions Stir the cake mix and gelatin together in a large bowl, then add the vegetable oil and water and mix until well-blended, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing after each egg. Add the drained strawberries and stir to mix. Divide batter among 3 greased, lightly floured cake pans or 9 x 13 inch oblong. Bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees for layer cake or 30-45 minutes at 325 degrees for oblong. While cake is cooling, mix confectioners sugar and butter together. Then add strawberries slowly until you reach the right consistency. This may require less than 1/2 cup. Ice cake after it has completely cooled. Top with a few fresh strawberry halves if desired.
