1-1/2 cup (6 oz.) California walnuts, in halves and large pieces
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch salt, if desired
1 cup chopped dried apricots, apples or pears
Preheat the oven to 300F. In a large bowl, blend the honey and oil together until smooth.
Add the cereal, oatmeal, walnuts, cinnamon, and salt, if desired, then stir and toss to combine the ingredients. Spread evenly in a baking pan and bake for about 25 minutes, until lightly browned, stirring 2 or 3 times.
Cool completely, then stir in the dried fruit.
Store in a an airtight container. Makes about 6 cups.
