Smothered Pork Chops – Reduced Fat

A great comfort main dish.

Ingredients

1 onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
6 boneless pork chops
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups fat-free canned chicken broth
1 teaspoon browning and seasoning sauce

Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, saute onion and garlic over medium heat until tender, about 4 minutes. Add pork chops and brown on both sides. Add water and bring to a simmer.  Dissolve flour in the chicken broth and stir into the skillet. Add browning sauce to give the gravy a nice color. Cook, covered, over low heat for 1 hour, or until the meat is tender.
