- 1 1/2 to 2pounds ground round or sirloin
- 1large onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
- 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1tablespoon Liquid Smoke
- 1tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1tablespoon jarred barbecue sauce
- 2teaspoons sugar
- Coarsely ground black pepper
- 1/2cup water
- Combine meat, onion, and garlic in a large skillet. Cook over medium heat, breaking up meat with a spoon, until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
- Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick. Serve on hamburger buns.
