You are here: Home » Recipes » Savory Appetizer Pork Meatballs Savory Appetizer Pork Meatballs Recipe by National Pork Board Yield 4 servings Prep 15 mins Cook 15 mins PrintEmail Ingredients 1 pound ground pork1/2 cup bread crumbs, fine1 -- egg, beaten2 tablespoons onion, minced1 tablespoon green bell pepper, minced1 clove garlic, minced1 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon pepper1 tablespoon vegetable oil1 -- 8-oz can tomato sauce1/4 cup apple jelly1/4 teaspoon curry powder Instructions In a medium bowl stir together well ground pork, bread crumbs, egg, onion, green pepper, garlic, salt and pepper. Shape into about 30 one-inch meatballs. In a large skillet, brown meatballs in hot oil. Drain excess fat from skillet. For the sauce, in a small saucepan combine tomato sauce, apple jelly and curry powder; simmer until jelly is melted, stirring occasionally. Pour the sauce over the meatballs in skillet. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring often.
