You are here: Home » Recipes » Sausage Soup Sausage Soup Recipe by TomThorson Yield 4 to 6 servings PrintEmail Ingredients 3 pints Chicken broth1 large Peeled and chopped onion1 tablespoon Garlic powder2 teaspoons Thyme leaves1 tablespoon Parsley leaves2 teaspoons Sage leaves1 cup Diced sausage1 medium Peeled and diced carrot2 stalks Sliced celery2 cups Chopped cabbage3 tablespoons Barley1 medium Cored and diced tomato1 small Peeled and finely dice potato Instructions Combine first six ingredients in a large pot and bring to a simmer. Add each of the next seven ingredients and continue simmering for at least one more hour. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve with crackers and slices of cheddar cheese. Freeze any left overs.
