Osgood Pie with Cocoa

  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings


1/4pound margarine
1cup sugar
2 eggs, separated
1/2cup chopped pecans
1/2cup raisins
1/2teaspoon allspice
1/2teaspoon cinnamon
2teaspoons cocoa
1teaspoon vinegar
9-inch unbaked pie shell


  1. Cream margarine, sugar and beaten egg yolks.  Add pecans, raisins, spices, cocoa and vinegar.  Mix well, then stir in stiffly beaten egg whites.  Pour into 9-inch unbaked pie shell.  Bake at 375F for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 325F and bake for 30 minutes.  Freezes well.
