Ingredients

1/2cup vegetables
Herb
1/4teaspoon black pepper
1/8teaspoon salt
8cups dry bread cubes
Meat (optional)
1cup fruit (optional)
1/4cup nuts, toasted and chopped (optional)
1 1/2-2cups Liquid

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F. In a large skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add Vegetables; cook until tender but not brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in Herb, pepper, and salt. Place the Bread cubes and, if desired, Meat, Fruit, and Nuts in an extra-large bowl. Add vegetable mixture. Drizzle with enough Liquid to moisten, tossing lightly to combine. Transfer bread mixture to a 2-quart casserole.*
  2. Bake, uncovered, for 35 to 40 minutes or until heated through. Note: Or use bread mixture to stuff a 10- to 12-pound turkey.
