Melt butter and pour over bread pieces. Use 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Scald half and half. Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar, salt, spices and vanilla. Mix well. Add raisins. Pour over hot half and half into egg mix. Pour entire mixture over bread. Set dish in a pan of water. Bake for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Remove from hot water. While still warm, pour rum sauce over the top. Rum Sauce – melt butter. Add remaining ingredients. Cook until thickened. Keep warm while bread pudding bakes.
