Mom’s Goulash

  • Yield 6 servings


2 pounds ground beef
1/2 large sweet onion
1/2 large green pepper
1/3 cup plus 2 Tbsp. worchestershire sauce
8 ounces spaghetti
1 1/2 quarts tomato juice
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 dash red pepper
1/2 cup ketchup


  1. Brown ground beef, onions and green pepper in large skillet until done.  While mixture is cooking add 2 Tbsp of worchestershire sauce along with salt and pepper.  In large cooker or dutch oven, cook spaghetti until tender and drain.  Drain ground beef mixture and place in dutch oven with spaghetti.  Add remaining ingredients, let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.  If goulash is too thick, add extra tomato juice.  You can also add more chili powder, salt and pepper to your own taste.
