Molasses Pecan Cookies

  • Yield 3 to 4 dozen

These easy cookies taste like you spent all day in the kitchen.


1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 -- egg
1/3 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon soda
3/4 cup chopped pecans


  1. Cream butter, sugar, molasses and egg until smooth.  Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.  Mix well.  Stir in pecans and drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet.  Bake in 325F oven for 5 minutes, until golden brown.
