Molasses Pecan Cookies

  • Yield: 3 to 4 dozen


1/2cup butter or margarine
3/4cup sugar
1-- egg
1/3cup molasses
1 1/2cups plain flour
1/2teaspoon salt
3/4teaspoon soda
3/4cup chopped pecans


  1. Cream butter, sugar, molasses and egg until smooth.  Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.  Mix well.  Stir in pecans and drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet.  Bake in 325F oven for 5 minutes, until golden brown.
