Molasses Crinkles
- Yield 5 dozen
These molasses cookies will take you back in time--they are just like Grandmother used to make.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 -- egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- -- granulated sugar
Instructions
- Cream shortening and sugar.
- Add egg and molasses. Beat well.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each in granulated sugar.
- Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with a few drops of water, just wet your hand and shake it over teh cookies.
- Bake at 375F for 10 to 12 minutes.
