Mobile Shrimp Gumbo
- Yield 8 to 10 servings
Try this easy and delicious shrimp gumbo.
- 2 pounds medium peeled shrimp
- 2 cans chicken and rice soup
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped okra
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 1/2 quarts water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons file
- Brown flour in oil; add onion and celery, and saute lightly. Add soup, water, okra and shrimp, salt and pepper to taste. Add Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 1 hour. Turn off heat; add file after boiling stops. Serve over rice with garlic bread.
