Magic Peach Cobbler

As the cobbler bakes, the crust rises up through the fruit to form a cakey topping.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups sliced, peeled peaches


  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Melt butter in a 2-quart baking dish. Combine flour, sugar, milk and vanilla. Pour over butter. Do not stir. Spoon peaches over batter. Do not stir. Bake about 40 minutes.
