Macaroni and Cheese in One Step

No boiling pasta for this all-in-one Macaroni and Cheese recipe, which easier than using a box mix.


5 cups skim milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 (16-ounce) package small sea shell pasta or macaroni
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat oven 350F.
  2. Combine milk, egg, and sugar.
  3. Combine remaining ingredients in an oblong baking dish. Douse macaroni with milk mixture.
  4. Cover dish and bake 60-65 minutes. Bake an additional 10 minutes uncovered. Liquid should be absorbed and top layer of macaroni should be crispy.
