You are here: Home » Recipes » Layered Taco Salad Layered Taco Salad Recipe by pavo1963 Yield 8 to 10 servings PrintEmail Ingredients 8 ounces cream cheese,softened1/2 cup -- milk1pkg .15 ounces dry taco seasoning mix3/4cup -- warm water1 1/2 pounds hamburger1/2 cup -- red onion chopped3/4 cup -- green pepper, chopped1 head -- lettuce, shredded2 -- tomatoes,diced8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese16 ounces taco chips8 ounces Picante or taco sauce, optional Instructions Combine cream cheese and milk. Spread in a 10×15 pan. Brown hamburger; drain off fat and rinse with hot water to rid of excess grease. Mix hamburger with the taco seasoning and warm water. When cool, spoon over the cream cheese layer. Then add chopped onions, green pepper, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and cheeses, Cover. Refigerate. Just before ready to serve, top with crushed taco chips. Optional: if desired, serve with picante or tac sauce.
