Italian Meatloaf

  • Yield 6 servings


1.5 pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1 medium egg
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup onion
3/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon oregano
1 cup tomato sauce


  1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
  2. Chop onion, mix with ground beef, salt, egg pepper, oregano, breadcrumbs and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Place on waxed paper forming a rectangle. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese into the center and roll meat mixture into a loaf, sealing the ends. Place in baking pan and bake for ` hour. Pour remaining 1/2 cup tomato sauce on top and cook for 20 additional minutes. Let set for 10 minutes before serving.
