Hungarian Goulash

  • Yield: 8 to 10 servings


1pound sausage
2cans kidney beans
1large onion
1large bell pepper
1cup diced potatoes
1 or 2can tomatoes or tomato juice
1teaspoon garlic salt
1 1/2teaspoons seasoning salt
1teaspoon thyme
1large bay leaf
1quart water


  1. Brown sausage; drain.  Add beans, onions, tomatoes or tomato juice, garlic salt, seasoning salt, thyme, bay leaf and water.  Simmer 45 minutes to an hour.  Add potatoes and bell pepper.  Turn up heat and cook until potatoes are done.

Note:  For larger servings, use 2 pounds sausage and 3 cans kidney beans.
