Hot Pepper Jelly (Red)

  • Yield 4 cups

Serve with cream cheese and crackers for a delicious snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

1/3 cup jalapeno peppers
2/3 cup bell peppers
1 1/2 cups vinegar
6 1/2 cups sugar
1 small bottle pectin

Instructions

  1. Seed peppers and chop.  Mix peppers, vinegar, and sugar in a saucepan.  Boil for 1 minute.  Cool 5 minutes.  Add pectin and a few drops of red food coloring.  Pour into hot sterizlized jelly glasses and seal.
  2. Be sure to use gloves when grinding or chopping jalapeno peppers as they burn the hands.
