Homemade Chocolate Brownies

- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 4 -- eggs
- 1-1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 cup chopped California walnuts
Preheat oven to 350F and butter a 9-inch square baking pan.
Melt butter and chocolate chips together in a small saucepan over very low heat; let cool.
Beat eggs until light and fluffy in a large bowl. Whisk in sugar then stir in cooled chocolate mixture.
Mix dry ingredients together in a small bowl and stir into batter. Stir in walnuts.
Spread in prepared pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
