- Yield 6 to 8 servings
"A friend gave me this recipe for hamburger pie years ago. That was back when our husbands were serving on the USS Wiseman. It's economical and is still a treat."
- 4 medium potatoes, boiled until tender and peeled
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- 1 (15-ounce) can green beans, drained
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Whip potatoes with margarine, salt and pepper. Set aside. Brown meat with onion. Drain excess grease. Stir in tomato soup and beans. Spoon into a lightly greased 2-quart casserole dish. Spoon potatoes on top. Bake for 35 minutes, or until top is lightly browned. Serves 6 to 8.
