Hamburger Casserole

2 pounds ground beef, chuck or sirloin
2 cans cream of mushroom or golden mushroom soup
4 cans water
1 cup uncooked rice
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
6 slices bread, cubed.


Brown ground beef, onion and garlic. Drain off fat. Pour contents into large oven proof bowl. Add cans of soup with 4 cans of water to beef mixture. Add rice.  Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes stirring contents several times to be sure rice is done and most of the liquid is obsorbed. Add cut up bread cubes to top of casserole and brown for 15 minutes or until toasted.  Serve with salad and you have a complete meal that men love.
