PrintEmail Ingredients 1 quart milk1 cup regular grits1 stick butter, cut in cubes1 teaspoon salt dash Tabasco3/4 stick butter, melted1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated Instructions In large saucepan bring milk to boil; add grits and cubed butter. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently. Pour warm grits into large bowl of electric mixer; add salt and Tabasco; beat 5 minutes at fast speed. Pour into buttered 13×9-inch baking dish; cool. Preheat oven to 350F. Cut grits into squares, do not remove from baking dish; top with melted butter and cheese. Bake 30 minutes. Wonderful with steak.
