Grill Secret: Dry Rub

  • Yield: 3/4 cups

A dry rub is simply a mixture of salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Rubbed well into your meat before barbecuing or grilling, it imparts a punch that makes even basting sauce optional. Start with this basic recipe and experiment on your own.

Ingredients

1/4cup paprika
1/4cup salt (coarse kosher salt works great)
1/4cup coarse black pepper
1tablespoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar with a lid. Close and shake to blend the spices. Sprinkle over meat and rub lightly before grilling.
