Grapefruit and Vodka Sorbet

  • Yield 8 servings

The vodka gives this sorbet a creamy texture.

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
2 cups fresh pink grapefruit juice (about 2 to 2 1/2 grapefruits)
1 tablespoon vodka
Mint springs for garnish

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the water and sugar until the sugar melts and the mixture stars to boil.  Boil for 2 minutes.  Remove from the heat and cool completely.
  2. Stir in the grapefruit juice.  Add the vodka.  Pour into an ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer’s directions.
  3. When finished, pour into an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.
