FRIED GREEN TOMATOES
- Yield 3 or 4 servings
- 4 or 5 green tomatoes sliced 1/4
- 4 cups fine corn meal
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt & pepper
- 1 quart cold icy water
- Cover tomatoes with icy water for 15 minutes and soak.
- Mix flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper. Pat tomatoes in mixture.
- Fry in oil until brown on each side.
