FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

  • Yield 3 or 4 servings

Ingredients

4 or 5 green tomatoes sliced 1/4
4 cups fine corn meal
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt & pepper
1 quart cold icy water

Instructions

  1. Cover tomatoes with icy water for 15 minutes and soak.
  2. Mix flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper. Pat tomatoes in mixture.
  3. Fry in oil until brown on each side.
