FRIED GREEN TOMATOES
- Yield 3 or 4 servings
Ingredients
- 4 or 5 -- green tomatoes sliced 1/4" thick
- 4 cups -- fine corn meal
- 1 cup -- flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt & pepper
- 1 quart cold icy water
Instructions
COVER TOMATOES WITH ICY WATER FOR 15 MINUTES AND SOAK.
MIX FLOUR, CORN MEAL AND SALT & PEPPER. PAT TOMATOES IN MIXTURE.
FRY IN OIL UNTIL BROWN ON EACH SIDE.
