Fresh Fruit Granita

  • Yield 8 servings

We love to buy fresh citrus for this granita, but any juice will work, including bottled pomegranate or blueberry.

Mark Boughton/styling: Teresa Blackburn

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
4 cups fresh juice (such as orange, tangerine or grapefruit)
1 to 2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  1. Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat. (You’ve just made a “simple syrup.”) Let cool. Stir in juices. Pour into a shallow pan, cover and freeze at least 4 hours. Once frozen, scrape with a fork.
