Fresh Apple Cake

  • Yield 12 to 16 servings

The enticing aroma of cinnamon and apples will fill your house making it difficult to wait for this cake to come out of the oven.


2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 -- eggs
3 cups chopped peeled apples
1 cup (6 ounces) butterscotch chips


  1. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a bowl and mix well. Combine the sugar, oil and eggs in a bowl and mix well. Add the flour mixture alternately with the apples, mixing well after each addition. Spoon the batter into a greased and floured 11×13-inch cake pan. Sprinkle with the butterscotch chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until the cake tests done.
