Fleming’s Salad

Here's a crunchy Romaine salad, as written by 11-year-old Sam, who calls this salad “awesome.”

Ingredients

Romaine lettuce
1 garlic clove
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil
White cider vinegar

Instructions

  1.     Take a large wooden salad bowl.
  2.     Take one clove of garlic that is peeled and put it in the bowl.
  3.     Add salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste.
  4.     Mash the garlic, salt and pepper in the bowl with a fork.
  5.     Add 3 parts olive oil to 1 part white cider vinegar.
  6.     Mix it all up.
  7.     Next, get Romaine Lettuce and rinse it in a colander.
  8.     Tear the lettuce in up in small pieces.
  9.     Shake the lettuce in the colander over the sink, and then dry it with a paper towel or   dry dishtowel.
  10.     Put the lettuce in the bowl.
  11.     Mix it up with two big mixing spoons.
  12.     Serve, Eat and Enjoy.
