PrintEmail Ingredients 1/3 cup shortening1/2 cup sugar1 -- egg1 1/2 cups cake flour1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon nutmeg1/2 cup milki1/2 cup melted butter1/2 cup sugar1 teaspoon cinnamon Instructions Cream shortening and 1/2 cup sugar in bowl. Beat in egg. Mix cake flour with baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 325F for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 3 to 4 minutes. Roll warm muffins in melted butter; coat with mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Serve warm.
