Delicious Chocolate Cake

  • Yield 10-12 pieces


2 sticks Butter
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups All purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2 -- eggs
1/2 cup Sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 stick Butter
4 tablespoons Cocoa
6 tablespoons Milk
1 pound Confectioners Cane Sugar (1 box)
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Walnuts (optional)


In a medium size pan, bring to a boil:  2 sticks of butter, I cup of water and 4 T of cocoa.

Remove from heat: Add 2 C flour, 2 C sugar, 1/2 t salt.

Beat in 2 eggs, 1/2 C sour cream, 1 t soda.

Pour into a 9X12 greased cake pan and bake @ 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness with toothpick.


Bring to a boil 1 stick butter, 4 T cocoa, 6 T milk.

Remove from heat and add 1 lb of confectioners cane sugar, 1 t vanilla and 1 C walnuts (optional).

Beat well and spread on cake.

NOTE:  Let cake cool a short time before adding frosting or cake will be like brownies.
