In Crock Pot, combine first eight ingredients (flour though vanilla extract). Spread evenly. Combine brown sugar, 1/4 c. cocoa powder, and boiling water. Gently pour over flour mixture in Crock Pot. Set Crock Pot to high and "bake" for two and a half hours. Turn Crock Pot off and let it sit for a half-hour. Cake will have formed on the top and a thick, delicious hot fudge sauce on the bottom. It's great on its own, but even better served with vanilla ice cream and/or whipped cream!
